Sugar beets
The other day, I tried a raw sugar beet. Sugar beets are vegetables that you plant in April and harvest in October. The sugar beet was 10 inches long and looked like a large carrot shaped potato. Sugar beets are a little bit softer than raw potato and are quite similar to Jícama, only much sweeter. Sugar can be extracted from the vegetable, but eating it raw is just as good (in my opinion). There is no scent to sugar beet, but it takes a very long time to the taste from your mouth.
Now that I have randomly informed you all about sugar beets, I strongly encourage you to try one whenever you have the chance.
