I was playing on a website that has games, and I stumbled onto a really fun game called “Swords and Sandals”. In this game, you create a gladiator and use it in duels.
(You can find it at http://www.blog-dude.com/swords-and-sandals)
When you win a duel, you gain experience and gold. Once enough experience is accumulated, you will grow a level. Every time you grow a level, you may add skill points to categories (strength, attack, defence, agility, stamina, etc).
With gold you can purchase new weapons (ax, sword, bow, mace, etc.) and new armour. Weapons allow you to deliver more damage, and armour prevents you from getting hurt.
On most websites, you can only play a demo version of the game. In demo version you can only play until you reach level 7. In the full version you can play until whenever and save your progress. If you play this game, I hope you enjoy.

Last week I saw the season premier of ‘Kid Nation’.
Kid Nation is a new television show that is similar to survivor, but is with kids. There are 40 kids that move to an abandoned town in New Mexico, and they have to maintain a community for about 40 days. The first episode was quite cheesy, but I think it will turn out to be a good show. You can learn more about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_Nation#Episodes or at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/kid_nation/
Kid Nation is on CBS on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. I am looking forward for the second episode tonight. In case you miss an episode, you can watch it on the CBS website.

I have the results from my experiment.
The bean in the glass of water did not sprout! I was camping this weekend so, sorry that I did not let you know sooner. I was quite surprised when I checked up on my bean, and it was soggy and stinky. I nearly passed out when it took a big whiff of it. I guess that I gave it too much water.
I have heard that some people have been unable to comment, I will try hard to fix this. Feel welcome to read my blog again.

I was wondering, is dirt needed for a seed to start to grow?
Yesterday, I was contemplating if it was possible to make a seed sprout without dirt. I figured that it would do me no good just thinking, so I made myself a little experiment. I poured water into a cup so that it was one centimeter deep. Then I put a bean seed into the cup and set it in front of my window.
I waited until today, and when I checked my bean, it was quite bigger. I suspect that the bean absorbed some water, causing it to expand.
I am hoping that by tomorrow the bean will begin to sprout. Remember, if you read this please feel welcome to leave comment.

Today we had an egg-drop.
The objective was to build a contraption that, when dropped from 6 feet, would prevent an egg from cracking. We could use only 15 Q-tips, 10 tongue depressors, 5 corks, 10 straws, 10 rubber bands, and glue.
The egg-dropper that I made was similar to a 3 sided pyramid. I made the frame out of tongue depressors, with corks on all four corners to act as shock absorbers. I then attached Q-tips to each corner to reduce force to the egg on impact. Once I put the egg inside, I tied all the open sides closed with string so the egg couldn’t roll out.
To my surprise, my egg-drop was a failure, and that ain’t no yolk! (get in? That’s funny…) The egg shell broke almost perfectly into 2 piece, and the yolk came sliding out. I had fun working on it, so that’s what matters.
Please, everyone that reads this, leave a comment. Thank you. Blog on!
