Cursors

Lately I have been trying to make a custom cursor for my website. I had to think of what I wanted it to be first, and I came up with either a sword or a tree. Then I read up on the steps of making one. I created the picture, but was not able to put it on my website. I am still working on it, and I believe I am getting closer.

I also want to make a guestbook available for people to use, too. That’ll probably come later on.

Olympics

I have always wanted to see the Olympics in person. Every two years I view them through the television, but I think that it would be an even greater thrill to go to the real thing! On August 8th, 2008 at 8 a.m., the Summer Olympics will be held in Beijing, China. Since obviously China is too great of a distance for me to travel, I can not attend.

I have recently been informed that the 2010 Winter Olympics are occurring in Vancouver, Canada! That is not too far away, considering that it can be held anywhere in the world. I am hoping, as of right now, that if I can make to money, I have a shot at going. Also, I learned that you can be a volunteer and get in free of admission (since they’re helpers). We’ll see what happens. If all else fails, I can view it on TV.

Sugar beets

The other day, I tried a raw sugar beet. Sugar beets are vegetables that you plant in April and harvest in October. The sugar beet was 10 inches long and looked like a large carrot shaped potato. Sugar beets are a little bit softer than raw potato and are quite similar to Jícama, only much sweeter. Sugar can be extracted from the vegetable, but eating it raw is just as good (in my opinion). There is no scent to sugar beet, but it takes a very long time to the taste from your mouth.

Now that I have randomly informed you all about sugar beets, I strongly encourage you to try one whenever you have the chance.

First month

Hurray!

Blog-dude has been on the Internet for exactly 1 month now. I am hoping that it will get somewhat popular in the next 6 months, that is, not having only my friends know about it. A way to help out (if you like my website) is to recommend this site to people you know. I will do what I can to continue adding fun stuff here, like the games which are quite recent.

Thanks for your viewing, ~blog-dude~

October!

The forecast says it may snow tonight! I hope that it does, because that would be the earliest I remember having snow in the year. I really enjoy the month of October and all that it bring like pumpkins, candy corn, snow, and Halloween.

I am looking forward to seeing all of the great jack-o-lanterns that people make this year. I always enjoy roasting the seeds from pumpkins after I carve them. Along with the pumpkins come my favorite kind of pies, Pumpkin Pie! Though, you usually don’t use actual pumpkins to make the pie, I think it would be kind of fun to try doing.

This year while I’m handing out candy to kids, I will be trying to keep track of which costumes I see being worn, and how many of them there are. It is funny how every year the most popular costume changes to whatever movies come out, such as ’spider-man’ and ‘lord of the rings’.
